In order to attain and Healthy Hotels Certification, accommodation providers must take measures to ensure all guest rooms are able to be considered healthy, by modern indoor environmental quality standards. Textiles such as mattresses, pillows and carpets in each guest room must be cleaned and sanitised at least twice per year, by a service provider whose equipment, treatments and processes have been duly assessed and subsequently awarded Healthy Hotels Approved Service Provider status.
